Film Synopsis: A man named Jesus from Nazareth claims to be the Messiah from the prophecies of Israel. Matthew, one of the disciples of Jesus, portrays his life and the message he preached to all. The life of Jesus Christ according to the Gospel of Matthew. Pasolini shows Christ as a Marxist avant-la-lettre and therefore uses half of the text of Matthew.
